Isuzuengine platform
Isuzu engines power the NPR and NQR — the workhorse of last-mile delivery. Their DPF and SCR systems are the most common derate source on medium-duty. We force regens, clear DEF faults, and fix no-starts across the Isuzu lineup.
Isuzu engines in service
The Isuzu engine model numbers in production and in service across Class 5-8 commercial trucks over roughly the last 15 years. MTG diagnoses and services every one of these.
5.2L; the most common Isuzu medium-duty engine in NPR/NQR (Class 5-6).
7.8L; FTR and heavier NQR (Class 6-7).
3.0L; newer NPR/NRR (Class 5), replacing the 4HK1 in lighter applications.
5.2L; higher-output variant of the 4HK1 in NQR.
7.8L; higher-output variant of the 6HK1 in FTR.
Diagnostics, not guesswork
We connect the right brand-specific diagnostic software for Isuzu, pull both active and inactive fault codes, and read live data — soot load, differential pressure, NOx readings, EGT, fuel pressure, charging voltage — before recommending a single part. From forced DPF regens and SCR/DEF derates to no-starts, cooling faults, and air system service, our techs handle it in the shop or on the shoulder.
MTG Shops does not perform Isuzu engine overhauls or in-frame / out-of-frame rebuilds in-house. We have quality partners in every market who specialize in Isuzu overhauls. We handle the diagnosis, get the truck to the right specialist, and coordinate the handoff so your downtime stays minimal.
