Great Dane trailer repair & service
Great Dane builds the Champion dry van, the Everest refrigerated trailer, and the Freedom flatbed.
Those lines cover most of what a general freight fleet runs, and the repair work follows the trailer systems: air, brakes and ABS, lighting and wiring, suspension and air bags, landing gear, wheel ends, and body repair after assessment.
On an Everest reefer, separate the trailer from the refrigeration unit. Axles, brakes, air, lights, doors, and body are trailer work. The refrigeration unit is its own system, and dispatch confirms that specific fault before a technician is assigned.

What Great Dane builds — and what that changes
Great Dane's trailer lineup includes the Champion dry van, the Everest refrigerated trailer, and the Freedom flatbed. Trailer type and loaded status decide what we inspect and where the repair happens.
Brakes, ABS, air, lighting, doors, floors, and landing gear on general-freight vans.
Trailer body and running gear is trailer repair; refrigeration-unit faults are confirmed separately by dispatch.
Deck, rail, lighting, suspension, and air work, with structural repairs assessed in person before scheduling.
Champion, Everest, and Freedom units share the same trailer systems; the model mainly changes parts and where the repair happens.
Trailer systems we repair on Great Dane equipment
Air system & gladhands
Leaks, couplers, valves, and frame-rubbed lines.
Brakes & ABS
Chambers, slack adjusters, drums, sensors, and wiring.
Lighting & wiring
Lamps, harness, connectors, and grounds.
Suspension & air bags
Air springs, hangers, bushings, and pivot hardware.
Landing gear & wheel ends
Landing gear, cranks, kingpins, hubs, bearings, and seals.
Body, floor, doors & roof
Panels, floors, roofs, and doors — assessed, then bay-scheduled.
When to call for repair
Sagging corners, ride-height problems, and leaks at the air spring or its line. We replace the failed part, reconnect, air the trailer up, and check the repair for leakage.
Chambers, slack adjusters, drums, and wheel-speed sensor faults. We trace the cause before quoting parts, then confirm brake operation after the repair.
Roll-up doors, floors, roof, and panels are assessed and scheduled into a bay. If the complaint is the refrigeration unit itself, that is a separate confirmation, not a trailer body repair.
Mobile roadside or shop bay?
Air, brake, and lighting faults are the usual roadside and yard candidates when access is safe and parts are available. Body, door, floor, and structural work needs a bay after assessment.
Roadside or yard
- Air leaks, gladhands, couplers, and lines
- Brake and ABS faults, lighting and wiring
- Eligible suspension, landing gear, and wheel-end work
Only where the trailer can be worked safely and the parts are on the truck.
In the shop bays
- Body, floor, panel, roof, and door replacement
- Structural and frame repair
- Work that needs a lift or shop equipment
Bay time is scheduled separately from 24/7 mobile dispatch, and a tow may still be the safe answer for a trailer that cannot move.
What dispatch needs from you
Tell dispatch which trailer it is — Champion, Everest, or Freedom — whether it is loaded, and whether the fault is in the trailer body or running gear rather than the refrigeration unit.
- Trailer make, model, and year if you have it
- Loaded or empty, and whether the trailer can be moved safely
- Exact location: mile marker, yard, dock, or terminal, plus an on-site contact
- What you are seeing — air pressure loss, ABS lamp, dead lights, wheel noise, sagging corner, door or floor damage
- Photos of the failed area, if you can take them safely
- Whether the trailer can be dropped and left at that location
